Forest School

Forest School aims to introduce children to the natural world and allows them to gain confidence and respect for themselves and the environment around them.

The Out2Play Team at CSV Environment believes that Forest School has many social, physical and health benefits to offer, through helping children to enjoy physical outdoor activities and develop practical and social skills in a supportive framework.

A Forest Schools programme can build children’s self awareness in many areas of development from motivation to emotional intelligence and can have a huge impact on every child’s development especially those who may struggle in a classroom environment

Forest School can give children an increased awareness of the natural world and helps them to learn to respect it and others within it.

Sessions can be run with children aged four years and upwards from both schools and play organisations, and are tailored to the ages and needs of the individual client groups. They are always held outdoors, either in a local woodland or another suitable location.

Activities include building shelters, tracks and trails, cooking on an open fire, and making art from nature.
